Deribit Exchange Sees $3.7B in Bitcoin and Ethereum Options Expire as Traders Bet Bullish
Today, $3.7 billion worth of Bitcoin and ethereum options are set to expire on Deribit, with call options dominating the landscape. Bitcoin accounts for $3.1 billion of the notional value, while Ethereum makes up $588 million. Although this expiry is smaller in contract volume compared to last week's, the put-to-call ratios—0.7 for Bitcoin and 0.63 for Ethereum—reflect strong bullish sentiment among traders.
Bitcoin's maximum pain point is $105,000, and Ethereum's is $2,575, both above their current trading prices of $102,769 and $2,456, respectively. Market participants anticipate prices may move toward these key levels as contracts settle, highlighting the Optimism driving today's expiry.
